Simple Things you can do to Protect your Home
Leaving your place to go on a vacation, or a simple trip to the grocery store shouldn’t give you worries as you leave your home. But as technology progress, so as the tools of the burglars and thieves. Your home should be your comfort zone and at the same time should protect you from harm. Did you know that The typical homeowner suffers a loss of nearly $2,000 in stolen goods or property damage.

Security cameras can always help protect your home but there are tons of things you can do to lessen crime in your own home. Here are some of the things you can do (or shouldn’t do):

1. Do not post your trip on social media

Don’t tip off burglars by giving your vacation information on Facebook, Twitter or any other social networking sites. Burglars and thieves often try to find out if anyone is home by simply scanning your social media account mostly if you’re account is on public. If you get several suspicious friend requests, block them or disapprove their requests. Warn family members, especially children, not to post vacation information through Facebook or any social sites — especially about who is home, who is out, or how long any- one is expected to be out.

2. Make it look as if you’re home

Maintaining an appearance of occupancy even when your home is vacant is essential to prevent burglary attempts. Timers can automatically regulate television, radios, and the interior lighting of a home to create such a deception. Timers should be used while you are on vacation, when you are out to dinner or even during the day while you are at work.

3. Do not give them your belongings - easily!

If, despite your precautions, a burglar does get into your home, do not give him or her a “bonus” of cash or easily-carried jewelry. Never keep large sums of cash around the house. Keep valuable jewelry that you do not often wear in a safe deposit box.

4. Trim the bushes and trees

It’s one of the easiest thing to do to prevent burglar from trying to enter your property. A heavy shrubs or an untrimmed tree can be a safe haven for the thief to hide at night. Trim back any overgrown vegetation so that your home’s windows, porches and doors are visible to neighbors and passersby, it does not just looks good but it is also less attractive for the burglars.

5. Get a home security camera system

Anything could be happening at home when you’re not there! But when you own a CCTV camera, you can monitor everything! You don’t have to be a victim of burglary. While burglary is one of the most frequently committed crimes, it’s preventable. A CCTV camera lets you keep an eye on everything happening in your home. And you can listen too, and hear everything! It even works at night and will make clear videos in the dark with the special IR function. Securewatch365 is the ultimate home security camera. It connects to your Wi-Fi and is always watching everything in your home or office. You can see what’s going on anywhere in the world!

Once this system is activated by motion does it record? To allow you to watch it at a later date? If so how much storage does it have?
